What is Letrozole?
Its primarily used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women, however, it can also be given to premenopausal women. It suppresses the production of estrogen and is often prescribed to those who have been taking tamoxifen for 5 years. It has been shown to lower estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, suggesting that it may slow the growth of some breast tumors that require estrogen to develop.

How does Letrozole 2.5mg for fertility work?
For ovulatory problems, medications are prescribed to induce ovulation. This is because the ovaries do not produce eggs regularly or at all in such cases. To mature these eggs and produce more follicles, the pituitary gland needs to create more hormones that will stimulate the growth of ovarian follicles.
it is an aromatase inhibitor that fundamentally works by inhibiting/suppressing the estrogen-producing enzyme, aromatase. Doing so, indirectly suppresses estrogen levels and promotes follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) release. FSH is essential for helping develop and grow new follicles.
